The project’s primary concern was documenting light pollution, in particular that from the Amex stadium and the surrounding Brighton and Sussex university campus. The interest in the topic was sparked by an article in The Guardian newspaper online. (McDonald, 2020) I initially began to research the types of light pollution, and topographical and aerial maps that visualise light distribution. The main issue is that the light from the stadium is not shielded and is used until the late hours to encourage the grass to grow.
